About Therapy

2056947347You spend a lot of time thinking about how to excel…

…especially when it comes to pleasing others.

In fact, you’ve been so focused on making others happy you no longer know what makes YOU happy. This is likely backfiring by now and begs the question of how to ease angry outbursts with those you love most.

Therapy helps get to the root of patterns that allow resentment to take shape, even when your intentions are amazing. You can then lay down new roots that lead to assertiveness and setting self-serving boundaries.

How we’ll get started…

An email will arrive in your inbox with a Zoom link.

A couple of clicks, and we are off and running. Here is an opportunity to share any questions you might have. You can take your time – this hour is yours entirely!

After answering any questions, you can discuss your decision to get started or what is on your heart and mind. Once you are done, I’ll start creating a roadmap to follow to your destination of improved calm and well-being.

We’ll take an approach of well-placed, small steps. Small steps can create big momentum, which can seem impossible right now.

We will create sessions around your schedule with flexible timing, which I pride myself on, especially as a therapist of individuals with very busy lives.

About Andrew Vitale, LCSW

AdminI’ve always had a passion for helping others.

I was born and raised in a pretty unremarkable neighborhood in Queens, right by the airport. The planes used to fly over my house and make me miss important parts of TV shows!

My first experiences with anxiety and depression were confusing and overwhelming, which started during childhood. I white-knuckled it through high school, then took my first psychology course as an undergrad. Suddenly, I began to see that there was a solution to feeling awful, and I found my first therapist. That decision changed my life.

Understanding psychology and behavior became my passion in my teens, but even before that, I gravitated toward helping others. As a young boy, I often wished I could console my parents, who dealt with their own struggles as a young family.

Naturally, the thought that I could help others experience joy and relief was too exciting to ignore, and I began my journey of becoming a therapist, which was school, school, and more school! Today, I hold a master’s degree from NYU and am licensed to practice in New York State and Connecticut.

In my free time…

I love to watch sports and keep up with the latest economic developments. Yet, my favorite activity is to be with close friends and family in nature, like the beach or the forest, especially if it is a hike! I consider myself an intellectual but also a little goofy and sometimes nervous!

Lastly, I love animals and aim to make a golden retriever part of my practice! That’s me in a nutshell!
